2 Christmas Games And A Super Great New Bundle
A Short Update About My Christmas-Themed New Games
Hi!
You might notice some things are different around here. Obviously, the slow implosion of Twitter has forced me to move my newsletter from its previous host, the Twitter-owned Revue.
I've looked into several different hosts and have been doing tests behind the scenes to find something that fits my needs. But, for now, I've settled on Substack. This may change again at some point. As I'm still tinkering and testing in the background. But for now, this platform is the only one in my price range that meets my needs.
Christmas Games
As it's the festive season, I've released two games themed around the holidays. The first is Santa's Elves Save The Day! Built on the system I designed for "This Game Takes Place Anywhere," it is a fun rule-lite game that is perfect for families looking to play a game together this Christmas.
The other game is called Elf In Your Self. It is about trying to rid your home of an evil Elf On The Shelf before it takes control of your body. This is a super fun party game with mechanics very similar to Go Fish, making it great for parties and sessions where you want to quickly dive into a game!
Ind Of The Year 2022
Also, I'm part of this year's Ind Of The Year Bundle. It is a celebration of what people in the Indie TTRPG space have achieved in the last 12 months, with indie designers submitting their favorite creations of the year. $50 gets you 50 games, and it features some stunning titles.
If you're looking for a few recommendations to get you started, let me draw your attention to the following games:
Paris Gondo - The Life-Saving Magic of Inventorying - A story game that lightly mocks the concept of encumbrance in games.
GHOULBOYS - A game about a ghost hunt gone wrong that perfectly captures the vibe of those YouTube videos where comedians go on a ghost hunt and end up messing everything up.
Cantrip - I've been obsessed with Cantrip ever since it came out. It's about witches studying at a magical academy in the vein of Little Witch Academia.
My submission is "No Springs!" A 2-player game inspired by "A Case Of Spring Fever," an industrial film made by Chevrolet in 1940 that became famous when it was riffed on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
The game lets you and a friend create your own education short, from the sensible to the silly. I played the game with Jeff Stormer on the Party Of One Podcast, and our short was about a world without podcasts!
Check the episode out here. I had a blast recording it!
If you want to get the bundle, you can find it here
P.s. It would make an excellent Christmas present, as it's a ready-made TTRPG library and a great starting point for beginners dipping their toes into the hobby.
